SciVal is a research performance analysis tool developed by Elsevier, leveraging data from Scopus. It helps researchers and institutions assess their research performance, benchmark against peers, identify collaboration opportunities, and track trends in research output and impact. SciVal offers visualizations, customizable reports, and metrics tailored to specific research domains, aiding strategic decision-making and resource allocation in academia and research institutions. Together, Scopus and SciVal empower the research community with comprehensive data-driven insights to advance scientific knowledge and innovation.

Create SciVal Reports for Georgia Southern University

To create reports that include all authors and publications past and present affiliated with Georgia Southern, follow these steps:

  1. Open and log into SciVal.
  2. On the homepage, click Your Home Institution.
  3. You will be redirected to SciVal's overview page for Georgia Southern's institution ID (508073). This page includes all authors and publications past and present affiliated with Georgia Southern University, regardless of whether they currently appear in GS Scholars. 
  4. To create a report, click Create report and follow the prompts. For more about creating reports, see below.

To create reports that include only authors who currently appear in GS Scholars, follow these steps:

  1. Open and log into SciVal.
  2. On any page that includes the Entity list button button, click Entity List.
  3. Click the Head icon tab in the Entity list.
  4. Search for Georgia Southern University, then click Georgia Southern University in the Entity list.
  5. You will be redirected to SciVal's overview page for Georgia Southern University entity imported from GS Scholars. This page includes only authors currently appearing in GS Scholars.
  6. To create a report, click Create report and follow the prompts. For more about creating reports, see below.

Create SciVal Reports for Your College, Department, or Yourself

To create reports for your college, department, or yourself, either use a college, department, or researcher entity imported from GS Scholars, or create your own entity. To use an entity imported from GS Scholars, follow these steps:

  1. Open and log into SciVal.
  2. On any page that includes the Entity list button button, click Entity List.
  3. Click the Head tab tab in the Entity list.
  4. Search for the college, department, or researcher entity, then click on it.
  5. You will be redirected to SciVal's overview page for the entity imported from GS Scholars.
  6. To create a report for the entity, click Create report and follow the prompts. For more about creating reports, see below.
