ORCID, which stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID, is a free, unique, persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. People use 'ORCID,' 'ORCID ID,' and 'ORC iD' interchangeably, but what they’re talking about is a 16-digit number and the associated record (sometimes called a profile) that stores links to all your research, and links all your research with you.
We strongly encourage all research-active Georgia Southern faculty and staff to register an ORCID if you don't already have one as well as add it to your GS Scholars and Scopus profiles.
