Guide to Presidential Impeachment

In honor of President’s Day and the recent impeachment trials, Cassandra Hankin, a student assistant in the Government Documents Department, has constructed an exhibit as a guide to presidential impeachments. The first floor exhibit features primary and secondary source documents from our Government Documents collection on the four Presidential impeachments in American history. The exhibit also features a timeline of American Presidential impeachment trials as well as information on who can be impeached, what offenses are impeachable, the constitutional provisions for impeachment, and the procedures for impeachment in the House of representatives and the Senate. The exhibit will be available starting February 19, 2020.
