What is Digital Humanities?
Digital Humanities is defined as an academic field having to do with the application of computer tools and methods to traditional humanities disciplines. DH is defined as new ways of doing scholarship that involve collaborative, and computationally engaged research, teaching, and publishing. It brings digital tools and methods to the study of the humanities with the recognition that the printed word is no longer the main medium for knowledge production and distribution.
What Has Digital Humanities Done For Me?
Digital Humanities has expanded my knowledge of the different tools you can use to create different things in the technology world. In today's day and age, technology is a big part of everyone's day to day life. It is important to educate yourself with the different tools available, how to use those tools, and how you can use them in your life.

Blog 1: Digital Humanities

Duke University Digital Humanities:

http://digitalhumanities.duke.edu/

The Duke University Digital Humanities program could be described as "a program that promotes new ways to engage in and learn about the use of technology in humanities scholarship."

This university does a great job at explaining wat their program is, and what it does. They use a variety of fonts and colors in their blog to draw the reader to the important parts of their blog. They use different tabs to separate important information to make it more convenient and easier to access. Under the about tab, they go in to detail to explain what the program is about, what they do, and the benefits of it. They also go in detail explaining what projects they have done within the digital humanities program. Duke University also does a good job at showing visuals. They have a multitude of pictures, links, and videos to show what they are all about.

What makes them unique is their layout of their blog. There is not another blog that looks exactly like theirs. They include in their blog the projects they have done, the events they have been to, and other things they are involved in. What is also very unique is that under the "For Students" tab they invite others to join this program by showing the benefits of joining such as grants, research and job opportunities, and many more.

[One thing they're missing is more information about the people within the program. They do not take the time to make a tab or certain page about who started the program, and why it would be much more beneficial to know who is behind this program, and what he/she are all about. They also could add videos to their blog to make it more visual.]

Georgia Tech Digital Humanities:

http://dhlab.lmc.gatech.edu/

The Digital Humanities program at Georgia Tech could be described as a series of "projects that bring together theories of speculative design with original archival research."

This program does a great job at describing the goals for their program. It has many different tabs at the top organizing different pages for viewers to be redirected to. It uses different colors and fonts within the test to make key points stick out more clearly. They also do a great job at keeping the blog up to date on what's happening within the program currently. They also post many pictures of their projects, people, and other things in their program.

What makes it unique is that this blog has a whole page introducing the people that are involved/in charge of the program. It also shows the different projects that the people have been involved in, and describe the purpose of the projects. They also have their own blog within the website, that they update frequently.

[This website has lots of information, but is missing lots of color and animations. They could always use more color and different fonts to make the page more appealing to the viewers. They also could come up with a more interesting and eye catching title for their blog to pull catch the reader's attention.]
