How do I request a renewal? 

As long as the blue band is not marked “No Renewals”, you can request one renewal via your ILLiad account before the item is due. Click on the item record, and then click the red “Renew Request” link. We will then ask the lending library and let you know what their answer is. It usually takes 1-3 business days before you find out if the owning library granted your renewal request. They are the ones who determine how long a renewal lasts.

Once an item is overdue it is too late to request a renewal. You must return it to your home library, and we can get you a new copy from a different library to allow you to continue your research.
