Book Reviews (not to be confused with Review Articles) are short summaries of recently published books.  They are NOT the result of original research or scientific inquiry, nor are they the summary or review of research in a field or area of study.

NOTE: Book reviews often appear in academic or scholarly journals since readers of those publications are those mostly likely people to purchase those books; even though they deal with academic topics, they are NOT considered to be "scholarly.".
