Do you have a question about Library Resources and Services? visit this guide for students!
Here are a couple of tips to help you use LibGuides for your essays.:
1) Combo Boxes:
As you may have discovered, you can combine different content types (text, links, embedded video, images) in a single box if that makes the best presentation. That is, if you have images AND text they don't HAVE to be in separate boxes if you want to combine them. If you want to re-arrange the order of items later you can do that too--just click on Add/Reorder and then select reorder content (the last menu item)
3) Inserting images and embedding video -- use the Media/Widget option and past the embed code for an existing video, e.g. YouTube; to upload an image, use the Gallery tool. if you want any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me.
2) Fonts -- You can choose from a number of different fonts, sizes and colors in the rich text/HTML editor (as in this example)
3) tables -- if you want to arrange content in columns on your pages, you can insert a table to do that!
Here are some additional places to look for images (note that some images may have a limitation on their use due to copyright restrictions); be sure to cite the source of images you find online (at least a URL)
Do you wish you could use a fancier layout for your photos and images?
Well there is a convenient way to do that-with PowerPoint!
CLICK THE STEP 1 TAB ABOVE
1) Open Power Point and create a blank presentation (you'll be able to fancy it up later)
GO TO STEP 2
2) right-click the first slide and create a new slide (remember to delete the first slide afterwards), then click the picture tool to import images
GO TO STEP 3
3) YOU CAN INSERT IMAGES, ROTATE THEM, ADD TEXT LABELS, BORDERS AND OTHER ENHANCEMENTS
GO TO STEP 4
4) To save your slide as an image, use the Snipping Tool on a PC or CMD-SHIFT-4 on a mac to save your slide as a graphic file: JPEG, PNG, or GIF
YOU'RE done! now you are ready to insert your file into your page!
