Saving, Exporting, Emailing, or Burning Documents

Once you have scanned a document, it can be emailed, printed, or saved to USB, Google Drive, or Dropbox. You may also burn images to a CD.

While the default format for saving is multipage PDF, you will find that you may also save your files as single page PDFs, searchable PDFs, or as .BMP, .JPEG, .PNG, or .TIF files. Use the Format menu to explore these options.

WARNING:

  • SAVE AS YOU GO!
  • Your image files will be cleared out whenever a session ends (whether by choice or malfunction).
  • If you start in one mode and wish to move to another, save your files before exiting – they will not be saved across modes.
  • If the local memory (RAM) becomes full, the computer may freeze and you may not be able to save.
  • SAVE AS YOU GO!


 

Saving Documents to a USB

  1. Once you have scanned all of the images you need, you can save them to a USB. You will first need to insert your USB into an available port.  In addition to the USB ports on the computer, there is one port available on the ViewScan reader.

  1. To save your images, you will first need to click on the File tab in the upper left portion of the screen.
     
  2. Once you have selected the File Save tab, a screen will appear showing all the images that have been scanned. Select the images you want to save by clicking on the box next to each image. A check should appear in each box selected.

  1. Once you have selected the images you want, you will need to tell the computer where to save the image files. To do this, click on the folder icon below and to the right of Save to local PC.
     
  2. In the window that appears, click on the triangle to the left of Computer.

  1. From here, find and select your USB.

  1. Once your USB selected, you can now save your file by clicking on the Save icon.
  • NOTE: If you want to save a single scanned image rather than multiple images, select Save to USB from the top of the left tool bar. A window will appear that will prompt you to save the image to the USB that has been inserted into an available port.

Emailing Documents

  1. Once you have scanned all of the images you need, you can email them as attachments.  
     
  2. To email images, save them to the computer, then use a web browser to log into email and email the documents to yourself.

Printing Documents
