A civil engineer works in the oldest branch of engineering and is typically engaged in design, construction, operation and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure. With its emphasis on applications rather than theory, Georgia Southern’s distinctive curriculum provides students with a broad exposure to four major areas within the discipline of civil engineering – environmental, structural, geotechnical and transportation.
The Bachelor of Science in Construction degree program at Georgia Southern prepares individuals to be leaders in the construction industry. Construction managers facilitate project design and construction by managing resources, understanding construction contract law and dispute resolution, being knowledgeable of safety standards, and estimating costs and timelines.
