Working in Digital Commons

If you are uploading African American funeral programs to Digital Commons, you need an account. Accounts are separate from Georgia Southern University's MyGS login credentials but are free and easy to set up. You do not need a Digital Commons account to view or download materials in the WHHRC collections.

To Create a Digital Commons Account

  1. Go to the Digital Commons site: https://digitalcommons.georgiasouthern.edu
  2. Click on My Account (blue navigation bar at the top left). Under Create New Account, click on Sign Up.
  3. On the form presented, enter information in all required fields (marked with an *). Choose a password. Click on Sign Up when you have completed the form.
  4. A validation email will be sent to your email address. Click on the link provided to activate your account. You now have access to Digital Commons.
  5. To login to your account in the future, click on My Account, enter the email address and password used to create the account.

Uploading to Digital Commons

When you are ready to upload a funeral program, log into your Digital Commons account. The submission form includes instructions for each field.
