GS Libraries Intern-Librarian Program for Graduate LIS/IS Students: Application Process

Graduate students in ALA accredited programs are welcome to apply.

Application Materials

To apply to intern at the GS Libraries, students will have to submit the following materials:

1. Letter of Interest that addresses why they wish to intern in an academic library setting and specifically, why they would like to intern at the GS Libraries (maximum 2 pages);

2. Resume (maximum 2 pages);

3. Academic transcripts (unofficial);

4. Reference letters: 1-3.

Subject line should state your name and the semester you are applying for.

The Process

Review of applications and selecting finalists.

Zoom interviews with the finalists.

Successful intern applicant(s) will be selected and notified.

All Intern-Librarians must abide by the Georgia Southern University's Volunteer Policy.

Mentor(s) will be assigned to each intern.

Mentors and interns will confer and agree upon schedules and workload. 

Application Deadline

The GS Libraries are currently accepting applications for internship position(s) for the Fall 2024 semester.

Application materials must be received no later than June 30, 2024.
