Fall 2020 Issue Editorial Board

Laura Valeri - Managing Editor

Laura Valeri's most recent book is a collection of linked essays titled After Life as a Human (Rain Chain Press 2020). An Italian edition of the book is in print with Galaad Edizioni titled L’Isola del Silenzio. She has previously authored three collections of stories, The Dead Still Here (SFAU Press 2018), Safe in Your Head (SFAU Press 2013) and The Kinds of Things Saints Do (UI Press 2003). Awards and honors for her writing include an Iowa John Simmons Award, a Binghamton John Gardner Award, and an SFAU Press contest winning manuscript selection for the literary fiction category. Laura Valeri’s writing appears in various journals, including AssaySFWP Quarterly, The Forge, Fiction Southeast, South85 Journal, Cagibi, PRISM, among others. 

Danelle LeJeune - Editor

Danelle Lejeune’s debut poetry collection is Landlocked: Etymology of Whale Fish and Grace (Finishing Line Press, 2017). Her writing has also appeared in Literary Mama, Glass Poetry Journal,  Red Paint Hill, Whale Road Review, Fifth Wednesday Journal, Nottingham Review, The Olive Press, Driftwood Press, Drunk Monkeys, Moon River, Mothers Always Write, and Red Rose Review.  She teaches writing at Georgia Southern University and is the Assistant Director at the Ossabaw Writers’ Retreat.

Joel Caplan - Editor

Joel Caplan is an art photographer and a former technical writer for J.P. Morgan. His photography has appeared in numerous galleries in San Francisco, New York, and Savannah, where he currently resides. He has a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA from Pratt. 

Alex Chapman - Interning Assistant Editor

Alexander Chapman is an undergraduate Writing & Linguistics student at Georgia Southern University. He most enjoys writing postmodern fiction and creative nonfiction and received the Brannen Award his sophomore year for pieces in both genres. He is currently enrolled in the University Honors Program and has a collection of creative nonfiction essays in the works for his thesis. After graduation, he plans to pursue an MA in editing and publication.

Jeffrey Mortimore – Webmaster

Jeff is Discovery Services Librarian at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. Jeff's current interests include the impact of library automation on the discovery-to-delivery process and its ramifications for publishing and scholarly communication practice. Jeff is an advocate for open access publication and protecting authors' ownership of their work.
