Learn how to check out Georgia Southern University library materials, receive research support and have a uniquely exciting time during GHP.

 

What Can You Check Out?

GHP students can access:

 The GHP Collection
 Electronic journals, ebooks, and databases*
 All physical materials in Henderson Library
 Headphones
 Phone chargers
 Dry erase marker kits
 Board games & Educational Gaming** 
 Research and reference support from librarians
3D Printing - Learn how!

GHP faculty and staff can access:

 All resources available to students
 Laptops
 Tablets
 Cameras
 Tripods
 Photography equipment

How Do I Check Things Out?
You can check out books, headphones, chargers, markets and games from the Welcome Desk. When you’re ready to check out, make sure you:

  • Have your GHP ID card, driver’s license or other official photo identification
  • Can return the items on time and in good condition

When is My Loan Due?
All loans will be due back on Wednesday July 9th, 2025. Please return books, equipment, and materials to Henderson Library on or before this date!

What if I Lose My Loan or Return it Late?
We urge GHP participants to return equipment on time and in good condition. For questions or concerns regarding lost or late loans, contact Janie Cowan.

* GHP participants cannot access Digital Theater+, Refworks, Overdrive, and other electronic resources requiring Georgia Southern University credentials.
** GHP students can check out a Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch games for in-library use only. Switch and video game loans will be due for return on the same day as checkout.

 


Checkout Technology at Henderson Library

If you’re a GHP faculty or staff member, you have access to Henderson Library audio/visual equipment! Visit the Welcome Desk to browse and check out laptops, cameras, lighting kits and more. 

To check out AV equipment, be ready to:

  • Present your GHP ID card, driver’s license or other official form of photo identification
  • Complete required liability forms
  • Return equipment on time and in good condition

Research & Librarian Support

As a GHP participant, you can get support from the Georgia Southern University team of Library Liaisons throughout your program. Our Library Liaisons can help with a number of activities and needs, including: 

  • Dedicated classes during the first week of GHP
  • One-shot information literacy sessions
  • One-on-one research consultations from Library Liaisons

 

How Do I Contact a Librarian?
