Collections Shown in Class Fall 2022
- Canoochee River Valley Association records The collection consists of records of the Canoochee River Valley Association (CRVA) from 1969-1975. Includes correspondence to and from Georgia legislators and congressmen, Governor Jimmy Carter, Lt. Gov. Lester Maddox, and the Groveland Lakes Development Authority; minutes of CRVA meetings; petitions; resolutions; maps; newspaper clippings; and printed material.
- Clermont H. Lee papers The collection consists of Clermont H. Lee's research on the wild south Georgia shrub, Elliottia racemosa and the development of the Charles C. Harrold Nature Preserve in Candler County, Georgia. Materials span 1936 to 1994 and include correspondence, field notes, photographs, and published materials.
- Delma Eugene Presley Collection of South Georgia History and Culture The collection is presently composed of two groups: 1) notebooks, papers and photographs of plant life and culture of the Okefenokee Swamp, collected by Dr. Dr. Francis Harper, 1912-1951; and 2) a large ledger, accompanied by folders, containing information about land lots in south central Georgia owned by the Georgia Land and Lumber Company, late 19th century.
- Ogeechee Riverkeeper oral histories This collection consists of oral history interviews of people who grew up living on the Ogeechee River and its watershed. The interviews were conducted from 2016-2017 for Phase I of the Ogeechee Project, but the topics span a broad range of time - including family lore and artifacts from Native American settlement and the Colonial Period through today. Materials include photographs and written documents with audio recordings making the bulk of the collection. Materials were originally collected by c.a.s.e. Consulting Services for the Ogeechee Riverkeeper organization
- Robert Edward Tucker, Sr. papers This collection consists of Robert Edward Tucker, Sr.'s ornithology field notes and journals concerning observations in the Chatham County area & the Georgia coastal islands. Most materials are handwritten and include daily observations from 1984-1997.

Special Collections at Georgia Southern University Libraries has been established to collect, organize, describe, preserve, and make available materials of permanent institutional and historical value to the University and the local community. Collections span both the Armstrong and Statesboro campuses and include personal papers, organizational records, photographs, campus publications, ephemera, rare books, and digitally-born materials. Special Collections also presents exhibits and forums for lectures, presentations, and academic discussions.
