This blog is meant to showcase some of the cool projects that I worked on and lessons that I learned from Digital Humanities Spring 2020.
I learned about the parts of a computer, coding languages, design, photoshop and editing software, and many other things in this broad class. I think my favorite project was scanning a page from a graphic novel and burning it into a panel of wood, however, to see how medium transitions affect content changes.
Data visualization and (Advanced Emotional) Design were very interesting things to learn about as well! We didn't exactly have time for the audio/podcast section but I intend to revisit that myself sometime. Finally, the Early Modern Book (Exposure) project we did in collaboration with Special Collections at Zach Henderson Library GSU was the most ambitious and long-term group project I've ever engaged in. We had a small but dedicated and capable team assemble to determine a good project to do that will show our skills and be meaningful at the same time. We decided on helping the Early Modern Books collection gain some popularity so people are aware of and utilize that excellent resource. It was a good, growing experience to be the project manager for the class and I'm grateful to have had that good learning opportunity. Also thankful to have ventured out and signed up for a class that I didn't entirely understand at first.
