It covers both primary sources (such as diaries, letters, newspaper articles, photographs, government documents and first-hand accounts) and secondary materials (such as books and articles written by historians and devoted to the analysis and interpretation of historical events and evidence).

Cycle of Research
Tips for getting through the cycle of research:
1. Be patient! You may not find everything you need on your first try. Remember, it takes time, so plan ahead.
2. Many steps of the research cycle are interconnected (see green arrows, above).
-If you aren't happy with your initial results in Step 3 (Finding your way), you may have to go back to Step 2 to re-evaluate your search terms.
