A New Discover Is Coming!

On Monday, May 30th, GALILEO will migrate all USG institutions, including Georgia Southern University, to a new Discover user interface. When this occurs, the legacy Discover search will no longer be available and all links will redirect to the new user interface.

The new Discover @ Georgia Southern offers several enhancements, including:

  • A cleaner, more modern user interface
  • Easier access to filters within search results
  • Improved personalization features
  • Clearer language
  • Concept Map browse and search

This is primarily a change in user interface and how researchers access the Libraries' resources. The content, search functionality, and account features that you are accustomed to will continue to be available.

As we transition to the new Discover, please be aware of the following:

  • The new Discover is already included on the Libraries' A-Z Database List as: Discover @ Georgia Southern (New User Interface Beta). You can start using the new Discover now!
All links to the legacy Discover will redirect to the new Discover. You don't need to update any links.
  • The new Discover includes all the same resources as the legacy Discover. Nothing is going away.
  • The new Discover offers the same guest access on-campus. You can continue to use Discover on-campus without logging in.
  • Legacy MyEBSCOhost account folders will continue to be accessible using any EBSCOhost database (e.g., Academic Search Complete). Legacy folders should become available in the new Discover later this year or in early 2025.

The GS Libraries have prepared updated support materials for the new Discover, which you can preview from the Support Materials page. Please direct any questions about our transition to the new Discover to the Collection Services Department at
