The Jack S. Hill Papers

Beginning in May 2023, the Jack S. Hill Papers will be available to researchers and the public. The collection holds more than just a compilation of Senator Hill’s life. It includes 30 years' worth of Georgia's political history at the turn of the century and during a monumental time in politics with the creation of numerous pieces of legislation.

In Spring 2024, Georgia Southern University plans to open the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center on their Statesboro campus, created to host large events for both the university and the community and will also add space for the Walters College of Health Professions. Georgia Southern is one of the colleges where Senator Hill acquired over $300 million worth of construction and improvements. This money was used to expand and create new programs at Georgia Southern, such as the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health. The Convocation Center will also hold a permanent exhibit pertaining to Jack Hills' life before politics, his 30 years of politics, and his legacy. 

Senator Jack Hill Veterans’ Act

Enacted in 2022, Senate Bill 87, or the “Senator Jack Hill Veterans’ Act,” offers taxpayers the opportunity to contribute to the Technical College System of Georgia Foundation through the Department of Revenue, used exclusively to award scholarships to veterans with service-connected disabilities.

Reidsville Post Office

Senator Hill lived in the city of Reidsville, Georgia, for most of his life and committed his political career to helping the constituents who resided there. Because of this dedication, the city renamed its post office after Senator Jack Hill in 2021.

The Jack Hill State Park

The Department of Natural Resources renamed the Gordonia Altamaha State Park in Reidsville, Georgia, to the Jack Hill State Park in 2020 as Senator Hill helped to secure state funding for multiple facilities in the park including an expanded golf course, cabins, group shelters, and a splash pad.

Ogeechee Technical College renamed its Natural Resource Building to the Jack Hill Building in 2021. The technical college was also one of the colleges of District 4 that received $300 million worth of construction and improvements.
