You’ll first enter into the lobby, where our vending machines are located, as well as the Period Pantry where you can retrieve free menstrual products.
The Circulation Desk is to your immediate left when you enter the main building. This is where you can check out books, laptops, phone chargers, calculators, and more! This is also where you can ask staff any questions you may have.
The first floor is our more social area, where you’ll find plenty of desks, computers, and conference tables. This is where you can talk and chat with friends - the quiet space is on the second floor.
Room 130 is on the first floor to the right just as you walk in. This is a classroom, so if your professor ever announces a class that will take place in the library, this is most likely where it will be.
Towards the Writing Center at the back of the first floor is where you’ll find the book scanner. This scanner makes scanning pages from a bound book or your notebook a breeze!
We also have a document scanner/copier. This scanner has a document feeder that will quickly turn your loose pages into a multi-page PDF file that can be sent to your email or saved to a flash drive.
Next is the Brain Booth, an experiential space to learn about the mind-body connection, reduce stress, and optimize learning. Here’s where you can unwind with puzzles, coloring, origami, a massage chair, using a biofeedback unit and more!
The printers are along the right wall. We have two black and white printers and one color printer.
Across the room you'll find the microfilm reader. We have a microfilm collection, and this is where you can view them, as well as take and save screenshots of the sections you need.
Also on the first floor is where you’ll find our DVD display. We have classics like Sense and Sensibility, The Godfather, and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, as well as popular series such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings!
At the back of the first floor is where you’ll find two study rooms: 122 and 123. You can reserve a study room by visiting library.georgiasouthern.edu and clicking the “Reserve Study Space” link.
