Goals of the Faculty Learning Community on OERs

The Affordable Learning Georgia Faculty Learning Community on OERs will be made up of 8 - 12 Campus Champions and Library Coordinators. The experience is intended to enhance each participant's understanding and implementation of OERs in a variety of instructional settings.

 

The goals of the USG Faculty Learning Community on OER are to:

  • Build awareness and community around OER efforts on your campus and system-wide
  • Identify institutional and system-wide processes that support or hinder OER adoption, and make recommendations for changes where appropriate
  • Identify and evaluate sources for quality OER that can be shared at the institutional and system level
  • Identify and evaluate OER-­enabled pedagogical approaches that may lead to student success
  • Learn how to establish faculty learning communities to promote a campus‐wide dialogue about OER adoption, creation, and develop
