Pickup Option Patrons choosing to pickup laptops from the Lane or Henderson Libraries will be required to sign a Computing Devices Checkout Agreement.
Mail-to Option Before a laptop will be mailed to you please complete the Computing Devices Checkout Agreement. By submitting this form you agree that you will be responsible for the laptop.
Both of these options attest the following statement:
I understand that I am fully responsible for this borrowed laptop and its safe and timely return to Georgia Southern Libraries. If the laptop is stolen, lost, or damaged/accessories are missing, I understand that I am responsible for all applicable charges. I release and hold harmless the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and Georgia Southern University, from all losses, damages, costs, and expenses, claims, demands, rights and causes of action resulting from my borrowing of this equipment. My acknowledgement below means that I read, understood, and agree to the Conditions of Use listed in this Laptop Agreement. I agree to return the laptop by the due date and time.
These laptops do not have standardized software pre-loaded onto them. Information Technology Services has provided software for you to download. Please visit the Software Downloads website for all available software downloads on University devices, please contact MyTechSupport for assistance.
Remote Labs| Information Technology Services
Need to use campus software and hardware while you’re away? Our remote lab access tool allows you to use campus computer labs from any location. Unlike our virtual lab environment, remote labs allow you to use campus hardware in order to run programs that have limited licensing or which require significant computing resources. Please visit the Remote Labs website for more information.
Georgia Southern University Libraries will mail available laptops to the address provided when the request is made. A member of the GSL library will check that the address provided is correct and up to date in order to ensure the safe delivery of the equipment in our care. When making a request for a laptop please select Deliver to Me and add your current mailing address. Laptops will be mailed in well packed boxes through UPS, which provides tracking and insurance for our materials. Upon receiving your laptop, please open as soon as possible and turn it on. Report any damage or issues with the equipment immediately to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone to 912-478-5647.
Please keep the box the laptop was mailed in. You will need this to return the laptop by mail.
Please keep the box that the laptop was mailed in. You will receive an email with a pre-paid return label by May 5, 2020. If you do not receive a return mailing label, please contact the Henderson Library at email@example.com or by phone at 912-478-5647. Please repackage this laptop securely as possible in the original packaging and affix the printed return label to the top or take it to a UPS store with the email pulled up on your phone. Please place the laptop in the mail by the day that it is due to the library.
Disclaimer: Laptops will only be held for pickup for 3 days without communication from the patron requesting the equipment. Please contact your library if you have not established a pickup time or if you need to change your pickup time or method of delivery. Patrons requesting laptops be mailed to them must complete the Computing Devices Checkout Agreement online form within 3 days of placing their request. Please contact your campus/library with any questions or concerns.
Laptops are available for renewal loan periods for students who are registered for the summer term and/or have obtained an incomplete for their spring term courses. If a Georgia Southern student needs to keep a laptop beyond May 8 for the reasons above, they must contact the campus supplying the laptop by email to request a renewal for the summer term.
