BIOL 5400_ Barrier Island Ecology: Welcome

As You Begin

Take the Time

  • Check your Illiad account! Interlibrary loan will probably be a reality at some point in your research future. Save time now, and review the guide on how it works. This will alleviate a great deal of frustration and confusion once you are researching and find something that the library does not subscribe to.
  • Remember, even if you are on campus, your personal laptop will have an IP address that is not recognized. You will need to authenticate (your GS credentials) to fully access materials. Sometimes the initial login does not complete this. If you are searching the databases and see a yellow bar at the top of the page - you need to click and authenticate!
  • Ask-A-Librarian Chat is there for a reason! There is no need to second guess and deal with major frustration while searching library resources. The library chat function is on the library home page, and is also available through our library guides (little golden bubble on each page). Use it and receive an immediate answer to your question!

Decorative Only

Welcome to the LibGuide for Barrier Island Ecology!

This resource has been created to help guide you through the literature research process. This first page includes a link to set up your Illiad, or Inter Library Loan, Account (if you don't have one already). Illiad is the system we use to allow you access to articles, books, or other resources that we do not have in our specific collection. There is zero cost to students to utilize Illiad.

Also, each tab at the top represents a different page. The page titles let you know what information can be found on each page of the guide. LibGuides are created to be "Point of Need" help. You may come back to any and/or all of the pages at any time to refresh your memory on how to locate, access, or otherwise utilize resources for this course. If you need additional help, you will find my contact information as well as links to schedule one on one consultations. These consultations may be virtual or F2F, whichever works best for you.

Thank you, and I look forward to working with you this semester.
